Planning Commission: Laurie Heiss

Laurie is a current member of the Planning Commission, bringing decades of civic involvement and a strong commitment to land preservation and responsible development in Redding. A frequent public participant in Planning Commission meetings—attending approximately 90% over the past two years, Laurie has also been involved in early Scenic Road designations, the Gilbert & Bennett charrette process, and other key planning issues. With a background in field biology, grant writing, and 15 years as a trustee and leader of the Redding Land Trust, Laurie offers a thoughtful, informed perspective. As G&B redevelopment moves forward, she believes it’s vital that the Planning Commission reflect the town’s values and benefit from experienced voices
