Meghan Bendish

Meghan’s career path has been a diverse journey, blending communications, finance, and culinary skills into a unique expertise. Currently, Meghan is a member of the Redding Board of Education. She also manages the dining program for Darien Public Schools, overseeing a $2.5 million budget and a team of 40 staff members, serving meals to over 5,000 students and staff. Her passion for child nutrition grew through personal experience as a parent and professional work with individual families before transitioning to school food services. After moving to Redding in 2016 seeking a strong academic environment, Meghan was inspired to engage with the Redding Board of Education following a positive experience. Community involvement is a core value for Meghan, who recently completed a successful term as President of the Redding Area Chapter of the National Charity League, leading with inclusivity during the pandemic. Her work on a politically diverse campaign reinforced Meghan’s commitment to empathy, listening, and collaboration. Meghan is dedicated to bringing thoughtful leadership, openness, and hard work to the Region 9 Board of Education.

Kristina Scaviola

Kristina is a committed Redding parent and Barlow alumnus (Class of 2002) passionate about supporting quality education and thoughtful facility improvements in the Region 9 school district. With a diverse career, including roles as a chemist, educator at the Boston Museum of Science, environmental consultant, and founder of a women-owned consulting firm, Kristina brings a strong foundation in science and environmental health. Currently, Kristina educates hundreds of students annually at New Pond Farm Education Center, fostering a love of learning in local and regional youth. Actively engaged in the community, Kristina holds leadership roles with the Redding Elementary School PTA, co-coaches the Odyssey of the Mind team, and leads the National School of Excellence application for RES. Focused on balancing educational needs with fiscal responsibility, Kristina advocates for equitable programs and facilities serving all students while thoughtfully managing the school budget. With a collaborative, data-driven approach, Kristina aims to bring the voices of families with younger children to the Region 9 Board of Education.
