Town Treasurer: Wes Higgins (U)

Wes has been the elected Town Treasurer of Redding since 2017, overseeing municipal finances and cash management strategies that generated record interest income of $1.5 million in fiscal 2024. He chairs the Long-Term Financial Planning Committee, advising on funding for key town projects, and led the Town’s ARPA committee to allocate $2.68 million in federal funds post- COVID. Wes also served as Chair of the Connecticut Food Bank’s Board of Directors from 2017 to 2021, guiding a major merger to create the state’s largest foodbank. His extensive financial career includes senior leadership roles at Morgan Stanley, Dimaio Ahmad Capital, and Credit Suisse, managing large teams and complex operations in investment banking and alternative investments. A resident of Redding since 1998, Wes holds a B.A. in Economics and Government from Wesleyan University and is married with four children, two of whom attended Redding schools.
